Railway Station: Railway’s blueprint for stations ready! Mini mall will be built, people will get these facilities

0

Indian Railways Latest News: The picture of railway stations of India may change in the coming few years. More than 40 stations can be converted into malls and for this the Railways is preparing a package of 17,500 crores. These stations will be equipped with rooftop plazas, which will house shopping centres, food courts and restaurants. This step of the Railways is keeping in mind the facilities of the railway passengers.

What was mentioned in the blueprint?

According to the Economic Times report, the railway blueprint said that many stations will be connected by elevated road and some stations will have a space above the track and hotel rooms with air concourse, food court and other facilities.

For example, the station ceiling in Somnath will have a dozen shikharas representing the 12 Jyotirlingas, while Gaya station in Bihar may have a separate hall for pilgrims. Some stations have been allocated Rs 61 crore for Kanyakumari and Rs 91 crore for Nellore, while major stations like Prayagraj and Chennai have been allotted Rs 960 crore and Rs 842 crore respectively. This blueprint is not just for modernization of railways. This plan also indicates how the Railways views public-private partnership.

A senior railway official said on the condition of anonymity that now we are spending money only in developing the core station area. After that part is built in the next two-three years, we will invite bids from private companies to maintain these stations and develop more real estate in the surrounding areas.

This time the Railways has prepared the necessary funds before rolling the ball. The government has sanctioned Rs 17,500 crore (Rs 12,000 crore in the supplementary budget for 2021-22 and Rs 5,500 crore in the 2022-23 budget) for the modernization of 46 stations in the first phase. Railways plans to redevelop 300 more stations out of the country’s total of 9,274 (as of March 2020) in a later phase.

Indian Railway: Attention Passengers! The way of booking tickets has changed, know the update today

0

New Delhi: Indian Railways is called the life line of the people. People from poor to business class travel from one place to another on railways everyday. Railway keeps on changing its services from time to time for the convenience of the passengers. Meanwhile, if you are also going to travel by train, then definitely know the changes in the rules of ticket booking. Now you are required to verify the mobile number and email id before booking the ticket. Actually, IRCTC has made email id and mobile number mandatory by changing the rules for booking tickets from the app and website. This means you have to verify both of them.

Email verification required
According to the rules of IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, now it is necessary for the user to verify the mobile number and email id before booking the ticket. Without this passenger you will not be able to book your ticket.

why the rules changed
Actually, there are many users of IRCTC account who have not booked tickets online since the start of corona virus. This new rule is applicable only for such people. If you have also not booked the ticket for a long time, then you will have to do the verification first, only after which the ticket will be booked.

How to do email verification

Visit the official website of IRCTC and click on Verification window.
After that enter your registered mobile number and email id.
After clicking on Verify, an OTP will come on your mobile number, by entering it the mobile number will be verified.
Similarly, a code will come on your mail id, after entering it, your mail id will also be verified.
In this way you will be able to book tickets online after verification.

Along with this, another big update is that Railways has increased the limit for booking maximum tickets in a month on IRCTC user ID from 12 to 24. You will be able to book 24 tickets in a month with the user ID linked to the Aadhar card.

Indian Railway Free Services: Indian Railways is called the lifeline of the country. Indian Railways is the fourth largest network in the world, which is spread over 1.2 lakh kilometers across the country. Be it Kashmir or Kanyakumari, people prefer to take the help of railways to reach their destination. There are also many such services of railways which are free and very few people are familiar with it. What are those services, we tell you about it.

Railways gives this facility to passengers

During the booking of tickets, the railways provides the facility of class upgradation to the passengers. That is, the passenger of sleeper can get third AC, and third AC passenger can get second AC, and second AC passenger can get first AC facility at the same fare. To get this facility, passengers have to click on the option of auto upgrade during ticket booking. After that, depending on the availability, the railway upgrades the ticket. However, it is not necessary that the ticket gets upgraded every time.

Similarly, the waiting list gives passengers a chance to travel on the railways based on the seat availability in another train. For this, Railways has started Vikalp service. Passengers who are unable to get a confirmed ticket can opt for getting a seat in another train. For this, ‘option’ has to be selected at the time of ticket booking. After that railway provides this facility.

Option to transfer tickets

Railway also gives the option to transfer tickets. If a person is unable to travel due to any reason, then he can transfer the ticket in the name of any member of his family. However, ticket transfer can be done before 24 hours of the day of travel.

Under this, tickets can be transferred in the name of mother, father, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife only. For this, you will have to take the print of the ticket and go to the nearest railway station. Where the ticket can be transferred through the ID proof of the ticket holder. However, tickets can be transferred only once.

Like ticket transfer, the facility of changing the boarding station is also available up to 24 hours in advance. That is, if a passenger has booked a ticket from Delhi and wants to board from any other station on that train route, then he can change his station.

Change in boarding station can be done online. After logging into the IRCTC website or app, you can change the boarding station by going to the booked ticket history. However, the facility of change is available only once. And once the station is changed, the rights of the previously booked station ends.
