8 Ways Traveling Together Can Rekindle Love

Ways Traveling Together Can Rekindle Love – A World to Travel

Have you been dreaming about exploring a white sandy beach and turquoise blue waters with your spouse? How about trekking through a stunning jungle with only the sounds of animals surrounding you? Whether you want to sleep out under the stars with your partner, eat new and amazing food, or learn about a new culture, there are plenty of reasons to bring travel into your relationship and rekindle love.

If you have never traveled with your spouse, now is the perfect time to start. Take our love advice and learn 8 ways that traveling together can rekindle love and bring power back into your life – and your marriage.

Travel together and rekindle your relationship

1. It teaches you to work together

Traveling as a couple is great for your marriage because it teaches you one of the biggest qualities of a successful relationship – cooperation.

Working together is essential for a happy, healthy marriage. Couples must work together to keep their marriage strong, to raise children, to take care of the house, and the list goes on.

From the moment you start planning your trip, you’re doing it together. You’ve decided on your destination, where to stay, and what to do while you’re there. You work together because of common interest and the trip is made all the more enjoyable for it!

2. Strengthens Intimacy

A jam-packed schedule is great for getting the most out of your vacation, but it’s alright to slow down sometimes, too. One great piece of love advice to observe when traveling as a couple is to make time for intimacy while on your trip.

Building emotional intimacy is equally as important for a marriage. Research shows that later life couples were more likely to emphasize the importance of emotional intimacy over the physical aspect of their relationship.

Emotional intimacy also helps deepen your connection, builds trust, and improves understanding in a marriage.

Traveling together is about seeing new places and doing exciting things, but it’s also about taking a journey with your spouse. So don’t forget to make time for couples things, too.

3. Get to learn about other cultures

When you travel with your spouse, you have a common purpose. A goal you are achieving together – to see more of the world. This bonds you in a way that is nearly incomparable.

One bond you share is that of taking in other cultures.

When traveling with your partner, don’t be afraid to try new things. Eat like the locals do, explore new customs, and broaden your mind to other ways of thinking. This will help you get the most out of your experience.

4. Create a sense of trust

Going on vacation with your spouse deepens your trust in a way that can hardly be described.

You are going somewhere new, perhaps to a country where you don’t speak the language fluently. This means that you and your spouse will be solely relying on one another for help, company, and strength along the way.

This requires trust, which quickly builds the longer you travel with your spouse.

Building such trust is fantastic for bringing power and love back into your life since research shows that couples who trust each other enjoy more fulfilling relationships.

5. Learn to compromise

A great relationship is one where couples aren’t too proud to compromise. For example, they care more about their partner’s feelings/compromising on a matter that they do about winning an argument.

Couples who travel together learn priceless love advice about love and compromise.

Because couples don’t have endless time to spend traveling and don’t always share the same hobbies or interests, this can require a compromise on what attractions to see on any given day. You do your best to be fair and see a little bit of what each of you is interested in.

6. Take a break from the stress

Travel isn’t always stress-free, but spending time with your spouse should be. Or at least, that’s what science says!

From travel to date night, washing dishes to being intimate, research shows that married couples experience less stress and greater happiness when spending quality time together. Treating your spouse like your best friend, as you do when you travel, has also been shown to contribute to a lifelong, healthy marriage.

7. Share new hobbies

Being open-minded when traveling is a great way to develop new hobbies both solo and as a couple.

Perhaps you’ve found an instrument abroad that you’ve never played before, discovered a love of scuba diving in the tropics, took a cooking class in Italy, or have learned a new language as the result of your travels, the benefits couldn’t be greater.

Not only are you learning something of value that brings you joy, but you’re also creating priceless experiences with your spouse since studies show couples who share hobbies reporter higher levels of marital satisfaction.

8. Build healthy memories together

One amazing part of sharing the gift of travel with your spouse is that you’ll be building priceless memories that will last you a lifetime.

Whether you’re laughing at the time you tried to order off a foreign menu in another language or recall the romance of a sunset at sea, these memories have great value.

Research published in the Journal of Positive Psychology found that reminiscing is good for your health.

Participants of the study who reminisced about positive memories on a regular basis experienced boosted self-esteem, higher life satisfaction, and better general well-being. They also showed a significant reduction in symptoms of depression.

Enjoy your adventure

The best love advice you could ever follow is to travel more often as a couple. Doing so will help you strengthen intimacy in your relationship and rekindle love. Traveling together can also help you forge a bond of trust, learn to compromise, and share new hobbies together. After exploring the world together, you will have a new appreciation for your partner.

The First Time Traveler’s Guide to Hostel Etiquette

First Time Traveler’s Guide to Hostel Etiquette – A World to Travel (10)
If you’re going traveling it’s highly likely that you’ll stay in hostels along the way. They’re pretty cheap, fun and sociable places to spend the night, which make them a traveler’s best friend. However, there’s a certain ‘hostel etiquette’ that’s useful to know about before you go! Read on for my guide on the unwritten cardinal rules of hostel going.

I’ve always enjoyed staying in hostels on my travels.

They’re just cool places, packed full of fun loving people, most of whom are doing the same thing as you: exploring a new country and looking to have an adventure.

People come from all walks of life and are thrown together into this great mixing pot of excitement and activity, all in the shared pursuit of travel. It creates a unique atmosphere that you just don’t find in other forms of accommodation.

Staying in a hostel for the first time can be a daunting prospect too though. Just the thought of meeting and staying with a huge number of new people can be scary.

But it’s also an unusual environment to experience. I mean, it isn’t very often that you’ll meet and share your living space with a bunch of complete strangers; cooking, eating, sleeping and partying together.

It’s this setup that generally creates the incredible hostel atmosphere, but it can also pose particular ‘challenges’.

So, to help navigate this novel setting, there are certain unwritten rules that are useful to abide by!

The forthcoming ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ below are the particular rules I think will stand any aspiring traveler in good stead in their coming hostel stay.

First Time Traveler’s Guide to Hostel Etiquette

  • Respect your fellow hostel goers

This is pretty much cardinal rule number one, which, if followed, negates many of the ones to come.

Essentially, if you and all around you try to be good humans, making an effort to be thoughtful, respectful and considerate of the people around you, then everything in the hostel will be far more enjoyable for all involved!

  • Make sure you label your food

There’s nothing like living in a hostel to make a thief of you! The general rule in hostels seems to be this: if there’s no label on it, it’s fair game.

So, if you’re keeping food in communal fridges or cupboards, be sure to slap your name on it somewhere!

  • Clean up after yourself (but prepare for things to be dirty)

Is Kuwait worth a visit?

Kuwait is one of the Arabian/Persian Gulf countries. It is considerably small compared to its neighboring countries such as Saudi. Although I lived the first half of my life living four hours drive from Kuwait, I did not visit till 2016 and all I could think of was why did not I go for a visit before!

It is very similar to Saudi and the other Gulf countries, but it has some special interest points that are just there. To start off, it is much quieter than the very popular UAE. It might not sound as thrilling, but it is a nice place to go for a short visit or to join in a road trip around the Gulf region. It will probably take you a two to three days to see Kuwait depending on how easy you want to take it.

Safety & Religion in Kuwait. Is Kuwait a safe country?

Kuwait is considered a safe destination. The only time this country was unstable was when it was at war with Iraq, but that ended in 1991, which is 27 years ago. It has been safe and stable since then. It is considered a great place to live; the Kuwaiti nationals live a comfortable life and get a lot of support from their governments. There is also a community of Western expats that work and live there comfortably. For the latest info, please check the Bureau of Consular Affairs updates.

The country itself follows the Islamic rulings, but it is much more relaxed than Saudi in terms of women clothing. Women are not required to cover their hair and the Kuwaiti women take fashion and style very seriously. Just take a look at their beauty bloggers like Dalal AlDoub and Ascia. However, Kuwait is still a dry country and alcohol is illegal there.

Best time to visit Kuwait. What’s Kuwait weather like?

The summer heat is unbearable in the whole Gulf region. Most places are air-conditioned, so it can be manageable if you have to visit in the summer, but that means most of your outdoor activities will cause you huge discomfort unless you enjoy walking in a humid 54 C degrees. I personally, like the Fall and Winter in the Gulf. The cold is mild and there are lots of fun outdoor activities to do.

Kuwait travel tips for tourists visiting the country for the first time

  • What’s the best way to reach the country? Flying there. Search and compare the best deals for airline tickets.
  • Is it legal to drink alcohol in Kuwait? You must know that Kuwait is a dry country and alcohol is illegal there. It is not even served in hotels.
  • They do not have uber there, but you can either flag a cab on the street, or call a cab service.
  • Is it expensive to rent a car in Kuwait? Renting a car is relatively cheap, but there are so many reckless drivers there.
  • They have lots of exhibitions and fun activities that are usually announced on social media like Instagram and Snapchat rather than a website update.
  • Do you need a visa to travel to Kuwait? Most likely, yes! Answer all your Kuwait visa form here.

Ten Great Things to do in Kuwait

1. Relax on the beach

The public beaches there are a hit and miss, some of them are nice, but some are not looked after well and are full of rubbish. If you want a great beach experience you can go to the Hilton Kuwait Resort or Al Corniche Club.

If you want a women-only beach, there are three options: Messila beach, Aqua Park, and the Regency hotel. The nicest one of the three is the Regency hotel, but it is the priciest.

2. Explore the history of Islamic art

Kuwait has a few fantastic places to explore the history of Islamic art. One of the things I really enjoyed was visiting Dar al Athar al Islamiyyah meaning the House of Islamic Archeology, which houses the internationally recognized Sabah collection. I really enjoyed seeing the rich collection and if you time your visit right, you can even catch a talk or a lecture about Islamic art there. Another place to consider is the Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Arts and the other private collection there, which is very informative and beautiful.

If you are interested in learning more about Islamic art and attending workshops you can check out the Kuwait Islamic Arts Center, which is located within the Grand Mosque of Kuwait, and Liwan Kashida. They both offer occasional Arabic calligraphy and Islamic pattern workshops.

3. Attend a show at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre

This center has been established last year, 2017 and I heard so many amazing things about it. The building itself is worth visiting and seeing up close. The center includes a number of theatres, a concert hall, and workshop spaces. There are also places to eat, so it is a great option for an evening outing. The dancing water fountain is also fun to watch!

4. Shop in Souq Mubarkiah

The thing I was eager to see in Kuwait was the traditional market known as Souq Mubarkiah. I just heard so much about it as I grew up and there was always a reference from it in Gulf Region TV Dramas, so it was on top of my list. I really enjoyed spending a few hours there looking at various things, buying jersey headscarves and taking lots of photos. There are so many restaurants around it for dinner as well.

5. Shop some more in their shopping malls

Shopping is a big part of the Gulf region culture and the three main shopping centers in Kuwait are The Avenues, 360 Mall, and Marina Mall. All located in Kuwait City. They are huge and can keep you occupied for a few hours. They also have lots of cafes and restaurants there.

6. Learn about the world in the Scientific Centre

The Scientific Centre is another new building that was opened recently and it houses an aquarium and an IMAX theatre that shows Arabic and English documentaries for children and adults. It is not as big as the other ones around the Gulf countries, but it is a nice addition to Kuwaiti activities.

7. Rooftop Cinema

One of the fun activities you could do when the weather allows like in late Spring, Fall and Winter is to go to Cinemagics rooftop cinema. It is a very chilled out evening activity.

8. Upgrade your Cinema experience

Going to the movies is such a causal, under the reader thing to do, but in Kuwait, you can take that up a notch and transform a regular movie night out to a luxury experience at Vox Theatre, where you get cooked for by a Chef Gary Rhodes, a Michelin Star Chef!

9. Eat and Hangout with pets in Kuwait

I spent a considerable amount eating lots of delicious foods when I visited Kuwait. They have lots of delicious local brands and some international ones too. The food scene is great there. The café that caught my eye recently is the K9 Café, which is one of the first pet-friendly cafés in the region.

10. Failaka Island

Once you are done with all the activities in the city, you can head back to the water to spend a day visiting the little islands around Kuwait. The most popular one is Failaka and there are available tours there too. You can get there by ferry and you can buy the tickets from a little tourism office facing the waterfront. There are no public transports, so either be prepared to walk for hours, take your car with you on the ferry or even a bike if the weather is decent.

Be the New-Age Responsible Tourist and Show Some Love to Goa!

0

Eye-popping, right? Unfortunately, this is the sheer reality of many pristine beaches in Goa! With the distinction of being a tourist-favourite destination, Goa is fast becoming famous for its on-the-brink-of-being-seriously-damaged ecology, resulting from irresponsible tourists flocking to the state. Isn’t it high time to buckle up and save #GorgeousGoa from complete devastation? Absolutely, yes!

The Troubled Zones in Goa

Let’s check-out the red spots and look into the steps taken towards conservation.

  1. Aguada Fort is a popular tourist destination of Goa. And a trip to Aguada Fort, is inevitably followed by a trip to Sinquerim Bay for dolphin spotting! But did you know, that the stress of a large number of motor-boats hovering on the water is taking a toll on the popular Humpback dolphins who have been recently classified as ‘endangered’ from ‘near-threatened’? A group of boats venture out early morning to look up a pod of dolphins and after spotting them, the boats don’t let the dolphins get out of sight! They inform others about the location and tourists are brought along to see the dolphins. This intrusion hampers their mating and socializing behaviours. The government and local bodies are trying to sensitize the fishermen who ferry the tourists around about the behaviour patterns of the dolphins, but the gaps are still huge!

olive-ridley-turtles

  1. South Goa is well-known for its relatively cleaner beaches and tranquil environs. Among the hidden gems, the pristine Agonda and Galgibaga beaches deserve a special mention. These beaches are the hatching sites for the Olive Ridley turtles, and sadly, without responsible tourism, we might soon have another tragic addition to the endangered species list! They are already classified as ‘vulnerable’ as of now. The turtles swim up to the beach during the breeding season, and lay about 100 eggs on a trip, which incidentally clashes with the peak season in Goa. With the exploitation of the coveted eggs by tourists, massive conservation efforts are needed. Loud music, camera flashes and any sort of construction on these beaches other than for conservation purposes have been banned. Locals have been sensitized and some even volunteer for a night watch to care for the turtles. However, the need for responsible tourism is inevitable!
  1. Grande Island is just a boat ride away from the Calangute-Candolim beach belt and is a popular recreational diving spot. It has been noticed how adversely irresponsible tourism is effecting the precious coral reefs here. A large amount of plastic and other garbage have often been found here – disposed of into the ocean no doubt. And, with the boats sometimes using the reefs as anchors, the vibrant corals are losing their beauty with each passing day. Though the government has implemented a lot of steps to adhere to international standards of snorkelling and diving, mostly it is up to responsible tourists to make some serious changes for visible results.
  1. Mangrove forests have been known as nature’s defenders and are a common sight along coastal regions of the country. Goa, being a tourist hotspot, needs mangroves more than others – to safeguard the coveted beaches and natural vistas. These mangroves are home to fascinating wildlife species as well! Although the government puts in efforts to safeguard these mangroves, irresponsible tourists damage these forests with careless disposal of garbage and contamination. Ever wondered, how our favourite beaches would look after a severe flash flood? Yes, without these mangroves, they won’t stand a chance!

What can you do as a responsible tourist in Goa?

Well, here’s a list for starters…

coral-reef-goa

  • Say No to Littering

Yes, please! Make it a habit to carry your own garbage until you find a designated area to dispose it off. Do not throw plastic waste in the mangrove swamps or litter the coral reefs – marine life is precious and needs to be protected.

  • Say Yes to following government laws

Do not trespass on protected areas. Collect permits wherever needed and seek permission before using cameras or any other electronic devices in protected zones.

  • Self-education is the key

Yes! Learn about the biodiversity of the region you’re going to visit. Have a clear idea of the specific wildlife behaviours – for example, whether camera flashes or loud noises act as triggers for certain animals. You can also reach out to responsible tourism boards, which provides information on endangered species’ behaviours.

  • Say no to retail exploitation

Never be a facilitator of ecologically disturbing behaviour like stocking up on coral-made goods or curios and souvenirs made from endangered and protected species.

Soak in the flavour of Goa without barging on its fragile biodiversity. Be a new-age responsible tourist – leave just your footprints and nothing else, wherever you travel to!

So, without further ado, let’s take a plunge into the twin country holiday in Australia and New Zealand and find out how to make a honeymoon extraordinary. Presenting to you, the 10 romantic experiences in Australia and New Zealand that guarantee a perfect honeymoon.

Island Hopping Across Whitsundays, Queensland

Whitsundays-Queensland

Dusks to die for, lazy mornings spent under swaying palm trees, crystal clear waters, and over 74 islands to choose from make Whitsundays the magical honeymoon spot that couples keep craving for. Flanked by the majestic Great Barrier Reef, Whitsundays is a top Australian honeymooners’ destination for so many good reasons that it seems silly to even ask. Do check out Hayman Islands and Hamilton Islands for experiences that will leave you thirsting for more.

Beach Bumming At Byron Bay, New South Wales

The long coastline of Byron Bay is provided a great foil thanks to its dense rainforest coves that couples will find extremely hospitable. Stunning mountain vistas viewed from the coastline as you two sip a margarita or four, surfing lessons where you hold on to each other as you try to beat the waves, and sandy white beaches to bask in when the morning’s activities take their toll are some of the reasons why Byron Bay is one of the places you should be headed for whilst in Australia.

Australian Adventures at Cairns

Cairns

Up for some adventure? Cairns offers plenty. From deep-sea diving, scuba diving and snorkeling to white-water rafting as you brave the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is the ultimate delight for the adventurous couple. Once you’re done being a water baby, head into the interiors for a trek through the luxurious rainforests nestled within. Nights should be reserved dining in style at the award-winning restaurants in the area, and letting your hair down at the swanky nightclubs that are sure to end things at a high notch for the both of you.

Wander About Middle Earth At Hobbiton

If you or your significant other are Lord of the Rings fans, there couldn’t be much better to offer as a gift than a tour across the sights and sets of the award-winning movie franchise. Take in the bucolic settings of Hobbiton and experience what it must feel like to live as a Hobbit in his hole. Follow it up with an ale at the Green Dragon Inn where Pippin found his favorite brew, and luxuriate in the open expanses of the Kaimai Ranges as you are swept across sheep farms and old-school cottages.

Hiking At Lord Howe Island, New South Wales

Howe Island, New South Wales

One of the best things about Lord Howe Island is that it isn’t frequented a lot by tourists. So if you’re up for a blend of adventure and relaxation in serene climes far removed from touristy eyes, Lord Howe Island is the spot for you. Gaze at postcard-perfect views of volcanic peaks, sparsely populated beachfronts, thick rainforests that invite you to learn their secrets, and you’ll see why this is a honeymoon destination worth bragging about. Activities for couples include a hike up to the summit of the 875 meter Mt. Gower, snorkelling, windsurfing and kayaking.

Getting Outdoorsy At Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown

Lake-Wakatipu-Queenstown

Well, there are several reasons why Queenstown is the adventure capital of New Zealand. Bungee jumping and river rafting at the Kawarau Bridge, horse riding along its verdant meadows, and speeding through its rivers in a jet boat are just some of the varied opportunities Queenstown offers to its visitors. However, the pride of the place is reserved for a day spent admiring the stunning natural landscape of the pristine Lake Wakatipu. With the Southern Alps gazing back at you in full bloom, the Queenstown experience is romance par excellence.

Ice Walking On Fox Glacier

Take a chopper on to the top of Fox Glacier and spend a day cavorting around – albeit carefully – along the icy treads of this area. This is truly a unique experience to indulge in as the two of you wander about the sparse yet scintillating environs of Fox Glacier with ice picks in hand and crampons strapped to your boots. Spot actual kiwi birds, take the afternoon off for some horseback riding, and leave the evenings free for a dip in the hot pools to soothe yourself after an engaging day.

Getting Serious Fitness Goals At Bondi Beach

Bondi-Beach

Not for no reason is Bondi Beach considered one of the world’s hottest beaches (and no, we’re not talking about the weather). As a parade of impossibly sculpted beach bodies stand proud across from you, we can see how this may be a rather unorthodox entry for a honeymooner’s destination. But it’s more than just a tourist hotspot – the great swells of the Pacific waters meeting the sandy shoreline of Bondi makes for a visual treat. Couples are certain to enjoy the vibrant nightlife that Bondi offers for all its beach revellers.

A Night At The Opera In Sydney

Opera-House

Well, it’s tradition, isn’t it? The Sydney Opera House is to Australia what the Eiffel Tower is to France. Perhaps one of the most defining skyline enhancements in the world, the exquisite Sydney Opera House beckons you to enjoy virtuoso performances within its hallowed interiors. Apart from the gleaming vistas offered across the bridge that flanks the Opera House, this experience is one to go right up top on the bragging rights’ manual for all honeymooners.

Go Art Hunting In Melbourne

Known as one of the best cities in the world to live in, there’s little that Melbourne doesn’t offer for every type of traveler. After all the rugged adventures and beach basking, it is time to sink in to the cosmopolitan delights offered by a truly world-class city. Find your feet towards the National Gallery of Victoria to get a gander of Australia’s finest international art collections. Some of the most renowned works here include those by Rembrandt, Monet, Van Dyck, and El Greco.

Salivating, are we? While each country is spectacular in its own right, together Australia and New Zealand pack quite a punch. So if you’re looking to mix things up whilst on your honeymoon, partake in some of these experiences and let your holiday become the stuff of romantic legend.

Our first destination in Sri Lanka was Sigiriya which is locally called as the ‘Eighth wonder of the world’. It is located in the North Central Province and exhibits archeological ruins. Our Sigiriya sightseeing tour included numerous attractions, namely, Sigiriya rock fortress, water garden, Ajanta cave, Bulart Cart rides, and Elephant back safari. The best spot here was the Sigiriya rock fortress that astonished us with its exclusive amalgamation of nature and human imagination. The fortress has a long history and as our guide unfolded the facts about this place, we were astonished by its existence.

Another amazing spot was the Water garden that completely surprised us with its beauty and architecture esp. the way pools were connected to underground water was unique. The frescos on the caves called Murals exhibiting vibrant female figures was another surprise for us. Our next stop was the ancient city of Polonnaruwa that features Brahmanic monuments. We visited Gal Vihara, Quadrangle, Lankatilaka, Rankot Vihara, Parakrama Lake, and Minneriya National Park. Gal Vihara exhibits beautiful images of Buddha, cut from a long slab of granite. Later, we trolled down the ruins of Royal Palace known as Quadrangle which had concentrated collection of ancient buildings.

Lankatilaka temple is one of the most popular destinations in Polonnaruwa. This temple had a unique devotional ambiance where one can relax and meditate for hours. The third destination of our Sri Lanka trip was Kandy. We visited the famous Dambulla cave temple on our way to Kandy which was truly mesmerizing. Our other exciting stop-over was Seetha Amman Temple which was really admired by my parents. The place features two temples, one of goddess Sita and another one of Hanuman.
