0

Indian Railways:  If you also travel by train and are planning to go home in the festive season, then definitely read this news. Indian Railways has given information that how you will get a confirmed lower berth during the journey.  Many times the lower berth is not available despite requesting for senior citizens during ticket booking. But this time the Indian Railways has told about it.

This is how you will get lower berth

Actually, a passenger traveling by Indian Railways asked this question to the Railways on Twitter that why is this so, it should be corrected. The passenger has written tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav that what is the logic of running the seat allotment, I had booked tickets for three senior citizens with lower berth preference, then 102 berths were available, despite that they were given middle berth, Upper berth and side lower berth were given. You should repair it.

What was the reply of IRCTC?

RCTC has responded to this question on Twitter. IRCTC replied that- Sir, Lower berths/Senior Citizen quota berths are the lower berths earmarked only for women aged 60 years and above, 45 years and above, when they are single or two passengers (travelling on a single ticket). under the norms). IRCTC further said that if there are more than two senior citizens or one is a senior citizen and the other is not a senior citizen, the system will not consider it.

Senior citizens’ concessions suspended

Let us tell you that in the year 2020, in view of the coronavirus pandemic, the concessional tickets of several categories of people including senior citizens were suspended to reduce non-essential travel. Railways also said that concessions for senior citizens have been withdrawn as the risk of spread and mortality due to the COVID-19 virus is highest in that category.

Indian Railway News: Good news for differently-abled passengers, now you can make photo ID card sitting at home to get discount in fare

Digital Photo ID cards for Divyang Rail Passengers: Central Railway has launched “Divyangjan Module” to digitize the process of issue of Photo Identity Cards to Divyangjans with effect from 1st October, 2022.

Earlier, manual photo identity cards were issued to differently-abled passengers. But now with the “Divyangjan module”, the entire process from application to issue of photo identity card has gone digital. Persons with Disabilities need not visit the Division Headquarters to apply for Photo Identity Card. They can now register themselves by visiting http://divyangjanid.indianrail.gov.in. After registration, differently-abled passengers will have to upload necessary documents like concession certificate, form, photograph, disability certificate, proof of date of birth, address and photo ID.

Digital photo identity card will be issued after verification and approval

After uploading all the required documents, you will have to go through a process. After verification and approval of the photo identity card application, the photo identity card will be issued digitally to the differently-abled passengers. After downloading the photo identity card from the website, Divyangjan can get its print out. Divyang passengers can take advantage of this wonderful facility launched by Central Railway. Let us inform that the Indian Railways issues photo identification for the disabled passengers of the country. Through this photo identity card, passengers with disabilities get a discount on the fare for traveling in the train.

Senior citizens are not getting rebate in rent for last two years

More than two years have elapsed since the Indian Railways stopped giving concession in fare to senior citizens. Let us inform that with the onset of Corona virus, Indian Railways had stopped the concession given to senior citizens in the fare. Let us tell you that Indian Railways used to give concession in fare to women above 58 years of age and male passengers above 60 years of age.
