Vedic scholar, astrologer and Vastuvid, Acharya Basudev Krishna Shastri, lists the special pilgrimages and holy sites for travellers in 2020.

Tourist Promotional Mahayagya: Hailed as the “mukti kshetra” the Muktinath Temple is called a place for spiritual liberation. A special yagya or fire worship will be held in the coming year at Dev Ghat, the holy spot where the sacred River Kali Gandaki from Muktinath meets River Trishuli.

Baishakhi Mahayagya: The Nepali New Year or Baishakhi will be held in April 2020. Special havans, religious congregations of Sankaracharya, Jagatguru, acharyas, seers and gurus are planned to be held in Kathmandu as well as all over Nepal.

Shree Pashupati Bagmati Sandhya Aarti: Nothing matches the spiritual connect that the prayers offered at dusk at Pashupatinath Temple arouses. The temple in Janakpur, believed to be the ancient city of Mithila, comes alive with the aarti which is a part of the Ramayana parikrama (holy circuit).

The Mount Kailash yatra

The Mount Kailash yatra

River & Mountain Yatra: The Himalayan Kailash–Mansarovar yatra makes for a spiritual journey in the lap of the revered mountains and holiest of rivers here. The sacred river yatra on the Karnali River is planned in 2020 which will draw the faithful to the spirituality that springs from divine forms of nature. Worship of God Ganesh should be done before the worship of lord Shiva. Hence, it is necessary to worship Ganesh Himal, located in the north of the central part of Nepal. Seven rivers meet at Devghat and form Saptagandaki. It is auspicious to take a dip in the holy waters at Saptagandaki before going to Kailash Manshoravar. Our spiritual tour includes Saptakoshi, Sapta Gandaki, Karnali and Mahakali rivers too.

Nepal is the land of eight mountains that touch heights of above 8000 metres above sea level. The mountains are: Sagarmatha, Kanchanganja, Lotshe, Makalu, Choyu, Dhaulagari, Manaslu, Annapurna. Beside all these there are 1,310 mountains above the height of 6000 meters. These peaks are holy place of Lord Shiva that draw pilgrims.
