AirAsia facilitates free cancellation of flights, can also reschedule travel

AirAsia India said that apart from West Bengal, several states including Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra have started free cancellation facility after lockdown. New Delhi. Aviation company Air Asia India has provided free cancellation of some of its flights in view of the lockdown imposed to halt the spread of corona virus. At the same time, if the air travelers wish, they can re-schedule their journey without any extra charge. Air Asia said that in view of the 15-day lockdown in West Bengal, free cancellation and re-scheduling will be provided for all flights to and from the state. Air Asia India told that they have started this facility after the lockdown was imposed in many states of the country including Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. At the same time, due to Cyclone Tauktae, there were changes in the route of three flights of Indigo and Spicejet coming to Mumbai on Monday. A spokesman said that this was done due to the closure of the Mumbai airport by 2 pm. An Indigo flight at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) was diverted towards Hyderabad, while a SpiceJet flight was diverted towards Surat.

Flights stopped landing in Mumbai, diverted

An Indigo flight was also sent back to Lucknow. CSMIA said that operations at Mumbai airport were kept closed till 2 pm local time. According to the Meteorological Department’s Cyclone Warning Department, the highly severe cyclonic storm ‘Toute’ over the east central Arabian Sea moved towards the northwest at a speed of about 20 kmph and turned into a cyclonic storm. Due to this, winds are now running at a speed of 180-190 kmph. It is estimated that the speed of winds will increase up to 210 km per hour.
